Kanabec Hospital Imaging Department Remodels and Expands

Jan 2010- Kanabec Hospital continues to expand and improve its facility. The continued growth and needs of our communities have prompted the need for an expanded Imaging Department. The Imaging Department offers a number of services for our communities including: Conventional x-rays, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, CT Scanning, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), Digital Mammography, and DEXA Scan.

Kanabec Hospital diagnostic services are provided through a partnership with CMDI (Central Minnesota Diagnostic Inc.) of St. Cloud, which provides access to a mobile MRI machine and mobile Nuclear Medicine services as well as providing the highest quality of diagnostic expertise. Radiologists work side by side each day with the physicians and staff at Kanabec Hospital to provide a comprehensive, team approach to the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

The decision was made to expand the department while bringing the MRI machine and Nuclear Medicine services in house.  With the need for additional space, the decision was made to remodel and reconfigure the entire imaging department. The new space will be more private, spacious, and have a tranquil, serene quality.

The initial phase of planning is nearly complete. Final review and approval is expected to take place in early February, with construction in the new area beginning in March.
