Speech Language Therapy

Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) evaluate an individual’s ability to communicate and comprehend spoken and written language.  They treat a variety of communication disorders including; word finding difficulties, slurred speech, and stuttering disorders. SLPs also work closely with physicians and dieticians to determine the safest diet for a patient when swallowing difficulties are present.

Some of the services that are offered at Kanabec Hospital include: formal pediatric testing, early language intervention, articulation treatment, swallowing therapy, listening and memory training, use of computer software to promote learning, and video fluoroscopies among many other offerings.
