Complimentary Childbirth Classes bring

health, safety, peace-of-mind

Pregnancy!  What an exciting yet mysterious word. Kanabec Hospital’s Prenatal Education Class is designed to assist new parents-to-be in understanding pregnancy and their journey toward parenthood.  In offering these free classes, our mission is to assist women in achieving a healthy pregnancy and a satisfying and safe birth of their newborn, and to assist women in recognizing when there is a problem. The specific objectives are to assist parents-to-be in:

gaining an understanding of a healthy pregnancy,
gaining an understanding of the physical process of childbirth
            and anesthesia options,
learning and practicing relaxation and breathing techniques,
learning about the characteristics of the newborn,
exploring issues related to new parenting, and
identifying area resources for young families.

Classes are offered four times per year starting in February, May, August and November.  New parents-to-be are encouraged to attend the first two class sessions as soon as possible since important issues that are helpful throughout the entire pregnancy are discussed.
The last four class sessions focus on labor, birthing and the newborn.  Breathing and relaxation techniques are practiced, so you will need to bring a pillow and mat or blanket.

Pre-registration for the Prenatal Education Class is requested so that we are prepared for everyone.

For more information or to register, please call Melissa or Kris at 320-679-1212 or
320-629-9993. Prenatal Education Brochure (PDF file) >
