Occupational
therapy (OT) specializes in the areas of hand rehabilitation,
cognitive rehabilitation, and activities of daily living retraining.
It is a dynamic and broad dimension of patient rehabilitation
that focuses on "maximizing independent function and
promoting an improved sense of well-being." Occupational
Therapists (OTs) are the professionals that provide
this service. They help to restore optimum functioning of
the upper extremity and hand.
Kanabec Hospital has Heather Alexander, MA-OTR/L on staff
ready to meet you occupational therapy needs. Services are
offered 3 days a week.
