Speech-language
pathologists (SLPs) evaluate an individual’s
ability to communicate and comprehend spoken and written
language.
They
treat a variety of communication disorders including word
finding difficulties, slurred speech, and stuttering disorders.
SLPs also work closely with physicians and dieticians
to determine the safest diet for a patient when swallowing
difficulties are present. Kanabec Hospital offers video
fluoroscopies, which is a procedure performed in conjunction
with Radiology to evaluate swallowing function.
